Alas, all is not lost.

I guess you could say I’ve become mainstream. First it was the music. Then it was the Mac. And now what?

Modern Warfare 2 has been announced that it will not support dedicated servers for it’s PC version.
PC players: Go ahead and pick your jaw up off the floor and try not to talk too much with the caps lock on.

Console players: It’s pretty much one of the most unique, controlling things that enable PC gamers to game. It’s a monumental thing, with multiple businesses involved in hosting dedicated servers that a person can buy and allow whatever they want them to do with. It’s an integral PC gaming cornerstone.
Oh, and hopefully I’ll be posting a bit more nowadays.

R.I.P. Billy Mays. Kaboom?
Carpal Tunnel. Talk about obfuscated.

While there are several particularly useful and practical applications for the IPhone that I could, and plan on, reviewing, I instead chose to review one of my all-time favorites and one in which I spend the most time with on my phone.

Tapulous
Tapulous, a startup IPhone application firm, has been releasing varying versions of Tap Tap since September of 2007. Tap Tap is a rythm game, much like Rockband or Guitar Hero. While several of these types of games have been developed for the Iphone architecture, there is a notable difference between those and Tap Tap Revenge 2 (the latest free release), most notably, Tap Tap just friggin’ works, and works well.
This is one of the most innovative and entertaining games available currently on the Iphone. With over 150+ songs available completely FREE, this application has some of the highest level of repeatable play, as well as high content quality and addictive gameplay.
In the same manner as Rockband or Guitar Hero, differing colored spheres come down the screen and you must “tap” one, two, or three sections at the bottom. Ive seen people play different ways…I personally use two thumbs, some people use three fingers and tap away like a deranged pigeon on crack.
Along with the free version, Tapulous has also released several paid versions that are usually big name artists, as well as themed graphics and gameplay. The full list of Tap Tap versions released includes:
Tap Tap Revenge, Nine Inch Nails Revenge, Tap Tap Dance, Christmas with Weezer, Tap Tap Coldplay, Dave Matthews Band Revenge, Lady Gaga Revenge and Tap Tap Revenge 2.
All in all, if I were to rate Tap Tap revenge out of a 5.0 scale I would give it a 4.8, which is a pretty dang good score if you ask me. Only negatives is the large storage space needed and download time for the songs. But what more could you expect, really? All in all one of the best games out there for the Iphone, I wholeheartedly suggest it. Till next time!
It’s Kevin. Steele. Kevin Steele. I make my long awaited reemergence. Or at least just a reemergence.

Use the itunes, Luke
I have an announcement to make, an announcment concerning the duties that I will partake in here at Consistent Obfuscation. As many of you know I have succumbed to the dark side and gotten the long-coveted Iphone. And like every other owner of this pearly (or in my case, shiny black) device, I have most undeniably fallen in love.
What this all comes down to is my new goal with Consistent Obfuscation, 5 reviews a week for Iphone applications. Paid and free applications, and if theres anything the readers (that’s you kids!) would like to see reviewed, drop us a line!
Look to see more reviews in the near future, believe me, there is PLENTY of content based off of the 5 pages of apps currently sitting on my phone. Till next time, peace out!
Surfing around on Wired.com, I found an interesting article.
Apparently there is a video game/conservative/financial advisory/mutual fund broker company that makes reports about video games for parents to find out about what is in these video games (as fare as violence, language, etc).
That’s all fine and dandy, except….they are little bit radical.
You know that game Army of Two? The game where it’s two soldiers that can be played cooperatively, and you can work together and stuff to do cool moves?
Well this rating agency says that it has homosexual undertones. I kid you not.
Sorry. I’m going to go ahead and appologize ahead of time. I can’t look, read, or talk about MAG without drawing similarities to Battlefield 2 or Battlefield 2142. It’s set in a sort-of modern war, with people organized in squads, you are able to drive and ride in vehicles, and there are recon drones (uav’s?).
However, I would like to point out that there are waaay more players on MAG (up to 256) and that (apparently) THERE IS VERY LITTLE TO NO LAG.

Let that sink in. Yes. They say that lag is extremely cut back. 256 individual players. That, my friend is nuts.
It makes me want to get a PS3….almost. I mean, I guess. But I’ve heard that the PS3’s online functionality sucks….that Xbox live is waaayy better.
I really wouldn’t know, I don’t own a single console. Read the rest of this entry »
Before I get into talking about the E3 demo, what is the exact name of this game, anyway?
Is it just Modern Warfare 2? Is it Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare 2? Call of Duty Warfare 2?
Not only is that obfuscated, it’s just plane confusing. I mean seriously, I don’t get it.
So…right the demo on E3.
Firstly you get to climb up a wall with ice picks. Sweet, that’s really different.
You drive a snow mobile. Cool.
You blow up Russian stuff.
Now that is just classy.
OK now on the serious side.
This game, as far as it looks, will far outdo Call of Duty 4. With vast landscapes and suberb graphics, Mw2 will at least be another great addition to the Call of Duty franchise (if it’s still called Call of Duty). And it will also make it on the list of games I can’t run on my pc. Yay.
Now what sells me are the weapons.
As soon as I saw the FAMAS, an AUG, and even a glock (which I had thought previously, how sweet would it be if there was a glock in cod4?) I was sold. Not that I wasn’t already.
I always wanted a bullpup-style weapon in cod4 since I just think they are amazing (besides the p90…bleh…), and now there is going to be in MW2!!
All I can think about now is blowing apart guys online with a FAMAS…or maybe a silenced AUG? Anybody else liking this?
I’m seriously as giddy as a school girl.
On a side note, during the snowmobile chase part, how do you aim the glock when you are driving? Does it auto lock?
The game soooo fires a glock like a G, yo. Just saying.
